Libreville, the capital city of Gabon, will host the 2015 New York Forum Africa on 29-31 May, and will bring together more than 1500 business and political leaders from all over the world, reports from New York and Libreville said this week.
The NYFA 2015 is themed ‘Invest in the Energy Continent’ and will take place under the patronage of Gabon President Ali Bongo.
The meeting will focus on the new dynamism in the continent, its entrepreneurs, economic and investment opportunities, the organisers said.
It will also focus on the continent’s growing energy sector, jobs creation, as well as education and innovation – all of this will serve to draw up a roadmap for the continent’s transformation.
Participants will take part in action-orientated debates and panels, as well as sector-specific breakout sessions and workshops to define concrete actions for sustainable and efficient investment into the energy of the continent.
Questions such as these are expected at the meeting: which reforms are efficient? Which economic diversification strategy works best? How should the expansion of sectors such as transportation, telecommunications, financial services and tourism, among others, best be supported?
