The South African National Youth Orchestra celebrated recently its Golden Jubilee in a stunning style in Johannesburg, at the historic Regina Mundi Church in Soweto.
The group was led to the stage and guided by its famed Finnish conductor Osmo Vänskä, who is also the music director of the Minnesota Orchestra.
Vänskä is a winner and on that occasion it made sure that the group shone like the moonlight, and won the hearts of its die-hard fans, who have always been there to support them.
“The experience of playing in the youth orchestra gives the young musicians skills that prepare them for life: teamwork, confidence and self discipline,” Sophia Welz, youth orchestra MD said.
