The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has announced that most of its premium content – radio and TV – has been uploaded on YouTube, as part of its #KaeKapaKae digital campaign.
The content includes, among others, news bulletins, current affairs programmes, and soapies such as Muvhango, SkeemSaam, Generations: The Legacy, 7de Laan, Uzalo and Isidingo
Radio programmes in the digital space include podcasting, social media, audio and video live streaming and records hundreds of thousands in podcasts downloads, locally and via the expat listening communities.
Popular podcasts include #Ask a man on Metro FM, news bulletins and the Forum on SAFM, iBrakfesi Eyondlayo Ekuseni on Umhlobo Wenene FM, pranks on the 5FM Roger Goode weekday afternoon drive show, sermons and inspirational content from Ukhozi FM.
The SABC News website, www.sabcnews.com, provides breaking news and the best of SABC radio and TV news and current affairs broadcasts.
Its online presence now extends beyond its website, keeping users informed through social media, @sabcnewsonline on FaceBook and Twitter, or follow #sabcnews for breaking news.
This initiative, the public broadcaster said, aims at helping its audiences to access the content whenever they deem fit and wherever they live.
The accessibility of this premium content online broadens the horizon on where and when audiences can consume such content, the Auckland Park-based organisation said.
