SABC’s Romy Titus is somewhere in the skies by now, proudly basking in glory and probably mumbling that hard work pays off.
The South African-born sports journalist has been acknowledged as one of the world’s leading sports journalists by the 2014 Laureus World Sports Awards, meaning she will be a member of the Laureus Media Selection Panel and play a part in deciding who should be the winners of the 2014 Laureus World Sports Awards.
The highly-publicised global sports awards honour the greatest sportsmen and women each year, and this year’s edition will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday, 26 March 2014.
“When I saw the email, I first thought that it was one of those hoax emails and I asked my assistant to confirm if this is true;” she said in a statement.
“I was in such disbelief to be chosen as one of the leading sports journalists in the world, it was overwhelming.”
Titus is currently with SABC Sport, focusing mainly on the Premier Soccer League and the National First Division.
She can also be heard on Radio 2000’s flagship sports show ‘Game on’ covering a vast number of sporting codes as the shows anchor.
The sky is indeed the limit. Good luck buddy!
