Maqoma’s ‘Four Seasons’ dance show goes to Johannesburg Market Theatre

Four Seasons, a highly critical dance show conceived by popular South African choreographer Vuyani Gregory Maqoma, will open on Thursday 27 February 2014 at the Johannesburg Market Theatre in Newtown, the Vuyani Dance Theatre (VDT) announced on its Facebook page.

The contemporay dance show is due to last until 9 March 2014.

Four Seasons, to be presented in association with Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, depicts destruction and deterioration brought about by humans, of life, each other and the earth, the group said.

However, it also embraces the beauty this planet provides and gives hope to generations to come, VDT added.

The audiences are expected to be thrilled by the magic skills and hyper creativity of the following dancers: Lulu Mlangeni, Xolisile Bongwana, Phumlani Nyanga, Teresa Nyanga, Keaoleboga Seodigeng, Otto Nhlapo and Roseline Keppler.

The original music, composed by Isaac Molelekoa, is excellently performed by musicians Billy Monama, Balindele Kubayi and Mandlenkosi Nhlapo.

The piece runs for 60 minutes, excluding a 15-minute interval, and is suitable for all ages.
