Forbes Woman Africa, one of the continent’s successful women’s magazines, has this week launched its very first television show named Against the Odds with Peace Hyde in partnership with Ecobank, reports from Lagos said on Thursday.
The show’s 12-part series, which will run through Forbes Africa TV, is set to premiere Friday 28 April on CNBC Africa, and feature on Canal Plus Channel 171, DStv Channel 410 and StarTimes Channel 309 later this year.
The show will feature women who are trailblazers in their respective fields of business and who inspire younger women to be bold and break boundaries, the organisers said.
Award-winning presenter and journalist Peace Hyde will join Forbes Woman Africa editor Methil Renuka in the inaugural episode to discuss the vision behind the series.
“The essence of the show is to really celebrate exceptional women. It’s about women who have tapped into their courage and persistence, and chosen to keep going in spite of all the hurdles,” Hyde said in a statement.
“I think that in order for you to do that you need to have a very strong understanding of your purpose.”
Renuka said: “Why only talk about the glass ceiling when you have ceiling-crashers who have done it all and can show the way.”
