FNB sold 175 000 smart devices since Oct 2011

South Africa’s First National Bank (FNB) revealed this week that it has sold over 175 000 smart devices since it first launched its innovative Smartphone and Tablet offer in October 2011.

“Smart devices are now an intergral  part of our daily lives,” Kartik Mistry, head of smart devices at FNB Core Banking Solutions, said.

Customers are now placing equal focus on the latest technologies and lowest cost of data, Mistry added.

Mistry also said that customers who ‘cross over’ to FNB will have a tough choice from a wide range of already discounted smartphones, tablets and laptops.

They will have to select a package, which offers free deals on airtime or data. The offer, which is available by SMSing ‘Deal’ to 31138 or by ordering online, will expire on 30 September 2013, the Johannesburg-based bank said in a statement.
