Accor has this week reached a portfolio of 2000 hotels offering meeting and events facilities this week. The Paris-based hotel group made the announcement yesterday during the annual IMEX Frankfurt tradeshow in Germany.
With a secured pipeline of 250 hotels to open in the two coming years, the hospitality group said it should be able to offer meeting facilities to business clients and meeting planners in 2 250 hotels by 2015. “With 2 000 meetings venues, on all segments from economy to luxury, we have designed a comprehensive offer and strong expertise for meeting planners, adapted to every meeting objective and profile of participants,” Carlo Olejniczak, Accor senior VP for global sales, said in a statement.
Accor has currently more than 10 400 meeting rooms in 90 countries in key business hubs, city centres, airports and incentive destinations. Recent openings of hotels with meeting capacities include Sofitel Al Khobar the Corniche in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre, Pullman London St Pancras (UK), Pullman Jakarta Central Park, (Indonesia), MGallery Carlton Lyon (France), Novotel Sofia (Bulgaria), Novotel Moscow City (Russia) or Mercure Rosa Khutor Hotel in Sochi.
”In each of our hotels, a team of professionals ranging from events managers to banqueting and chefs, audiovisual and information and technology experts, is dedicated to our business clients,” Olejniczak said. Their unique know-how is key to organise all types of events – from small meetings or incentives to large conventions, with a customised service approach,” he added.
With more than 180 000 events were organised last year and 1 400 hotels offering meetings and events capacities, and 7 000 meeting rooms, Accor claims to be the leader on the meetings and events market in the Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The group’s future openings of meeting facilities will be mainly located in the following high growth markets:
• 64% in Asia Pacific
• 11% in Latin America
• 6% in Africa Middle East
Key flagships to open include: Sofitel Dubai the Palm Resort & Spa, Sofitel So Singapore, Pullman Saigon Centre (Vietnam), Pullman Brussels Midi (Belgium) and Novotel Moscow City (Russia).
